Introduction

In the past few years, dermatology has experienced transformative growth, with notable advancements in the understanding of disease mechanisms, diagnostic technologies, and therapeutic strategies. Numerous subfields, ranging from oncology to pediatric dermatology, have witnessed significant innovations, impacting patient outcomes and clinical approaches.

Methods

This literature review systematically synthesizes research findings from January 2018 to March 2024 across major scientific databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Embase. Using a structured selection methodology, relevant peer-reviewed articles were analyzed to capture key developments in ten critical areas of dermatological research.

Results

Major progress has been identified in early skin cancer detection methods, biologic therapies for psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, and minimally invasive cosmetic dermatology procedures. Innovations in wound healing, novel interventions for hair disorders, and expanded telemedicine services have also been explored. Additionally, the recognition of cutaneous markers of systemic diseases has gained clinical importance, while pediatric dermatology has continued to address condition-specific challenges.

Conclusions

This review highlights the rapidly evolving dermatology landscape, emphasizing how recent scientific and technological advances are reshaping clinical practice. Ongoing innovation remains essential to enhancing diagnostic precision, expanding treatment options, and ultimately improving patient care and quality of life.
