Introduction

Health promotion is shaping pro-health attitudes and behavior, organizing health care, creating appropriate legal regulations and preventing diseases. Man spends a large part of his life at work, which is a significant test for the employer. The workplace is an important place to carry out more than obligatory activities for health. Conducting preventive examinations should be carried out according to the methodology and evaluation of scientific criteria, in accordance with the best practice of conducting scientific research. Objective: To compare the methodology of running pro-health programs and research to justify the value of using research methodology to implement and describe the results of a preventive program at workplaces/employers’ premises.

Material and methods

Analysis of the characteristics of health programs and research criteria. Comparison of the specificity of both activities, distinctiveness, points of contact and the benefits of combining individual elements.

Results

For a pro-health social project, the base of the pyramid is the population, which will undergo a preventive examination. The top of the pyramid is the final evaluation of the program and ways of broadly implementing the program. Funding, organization, group recruitment and material gathering are a very strong side of preventive examinations, while the application of scientific research standards is important to describe the results of preventive examinations.

Conclusions

Preventive examinations and pro-health activities constitute the future of modern health science and medicine, a growing substantive, organizational and financial department. When implementing pro-health programs, we should implement them based on the SMART principles, but also describe them in the language of science and apply the assumptions and criteria of scientific research.
