Confronting perimenopausal women’s knowledge of coronary heart disease with their health behaviours. Controversial role of hormone replacement therapy in the protection of coronary heart disease

Introduction

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of urinary incontinence on the quality of life and sexual function of women of reproductive age, in order to draw attention to the prevalence of this problem in young women.

Material and methods

The study was conducted online among 523 women of reproductive age. The study used a diagnostic survey method using the author’s anonymous survey technique.

Results

51% of the subjects declared urinary incontinence. Nearly half of the women declared the occurrence of disorders during intercourse caused by the above condition. The most disturbed zone in the lives of women with incontinence problems is the social zone.

Conclusions

Urinary incontinence affects all areas of women’s lives. The frequency of sexual intercourse decreases after the onset of the condition. Urinary incontinence significantly affects women’s sexual functioning.
