There are two aerosol treatment methods in modern asthma therapy of infant and small children: nebulization and single dose pressure inhalers with inhalation chamber and facial and nasal mask. Despite aerosol therapy development there’s no new technique of aerosol administration in this age group. Effectiveness of each aerosol therapy method depends on drug application and aerosol characteristic. Nebulization is the only application technique taking advantage of free inspiration. There’s no need of patient-inhaler cooperation and the possibility of wrong drug administration or intake is minimal. Clinical experience prove high effectiveness of nebulization in chronic therapy and exacerbation management. Nebulization, the oldest clinical aerosol therapy is still the best and modern method of asthma therapy in this age group.
