Neurolysis is reversible, temporarily destruction of nervous tissue (by the use of chemicals or radio frequencies). Neurolysis is still an attractive option for poorly controlled cancer pain. The most often performed blocks are: celiac plexus block, hypogastric plexus block, lumbar sympathectomy, impair ganglion block. Ethyl alcohol is used as the neurolytic agent. The best responses are when blocks are performed in early stage of diseases.
