The nasal provocation test (NPT) with allergen is a valuable method of diagnosing and monitoring the treatment of allergic rhinitis. Objective methods of nasal airway assessment are used for measuring nasal congestion during the nasal provocation. The article describes the use of acoustic rhinometry and rhinomanometry in assessment of NPT and the impact of the nasal cycle on the result of the test.
