Acne is one of the most common skin disorder. Systemic isotretinoin is the treatment of choice in the most severe forms of this disease. We present an overview of mechanisms of isotretinoin in the pathogenesis of acne and current guidelines on indications and dosage with more detailed description of potential adverse events.
