Progress in treatment of the ACS is one of the most spectacular achievements of present-day cardiology. Although the total mortality for cardiovascular diseases is decreasing, however mortality reduction is much lower in case of the women.

The large European and American registers devote great attention for analysis of the proceeding of the ACS in women. In Poland the record of the ASC was also created and the women comprise over 40% registered patients.

The analysis of these data indicate that episodes of the ACS appears in the case of the women about 5–10 years later than at men, moreover the women suffered from ACS have more risk factors and worse prognosis.
