Plasticity of the brain means permanent functional transformation in the neuronal network which determines its capacity for self-repair, adaptation, learning and memory. The foundation of the plasticity in the central nervous system is reorganization of the synapses by changing of their strength of activity, synaptogenesis, modulating quantity and quality of neurotransmitters. Plasticity of the brain creates the neurophysiological basis to improve proceeding, which leads to repair and compensation of the damaged nervous system.
