Management of resistant arterial hypertension

Elevated blood pressure which remains uncontrolled in spite ł 3 antihypertensive medications from different groups at effective doses is defined as resistant hypertension. Inadequate responsiveness to therapy may depend of: lifestyle factors, interactions with other medications and adverse drug effects, unrecognized secondary forms of hypertension, inappropriate or inadequate drug regimen prescribed. Treatment of resistant hypertension consist of identification and removal of all causes of resistance and the use of effective multidrug regimens.
