Open and closed techniques are the two main surgical procedures used for chronic otitis media with cholesteatoma at the Department of Otolaryngology and Oncological Laryngology of Poznan University of Medical Sciences. In the case of chronic otitis media with central perforation, tympanoplasty using temporal muscle fascia or cartilage is performed.
