These studies describe the course of pregnancy and labour in two patients after heart transplantation, that had been performed because of hyperthrophic cardiomyopathy.
In both cases pregnancy ended with delivery of a healthy newborn.
Case I: The pregnancy was confirmed in the 10th week of duration, 3 years after heart transplantation. During the course of the pregnancy the patient was treated with immunosuppressive drugs, also because of moderate hypertension and threatening premature labour. The patient delivered in the 37th week, by vaginal delivery, a matured male newborn, 3 320 g of weight, 54 cm of length, Apgar score of 8 and 10
points.
Case II: The patient conceived 4 years after heart transplantation. In the 13th week of pregnancy symptoms of threatening abortion occurred, and in the 26th and the 32nd week – also symptoms of premature labour. During our clinical observation symptoms of moderate hypertension were certified. The Caesarian section was performed in 37th week of pregnancy for obstetric indications, and female newborn, 2 230 g of weight, 48 cm of length, Apgar score of 10 points, was delivered.
In both cases lactation was blocked and the course of puerperium was uncomplicated.
