Confronting perimenopausal women’s knowledge of coronary heart disease with their health behaviours. Controversial role of hormone replacement therapy in the protection of coronary heart disease
Blunt traumas of the larynx and trachea are serious injuries, often life-threatening. It is important to recognize them early and implement appropriate treatment in order to maintain a patent airway and treatment of co-existing damage to adjacent anatomical structures. We report a case of extensive injury to the larynx and trachea, progressive dyspnoea and dysphagia associated with lower throat tearing, as well as massive mediastinal and subcutaneous pneumothorax. We describe a method of diagnosis and therapy of laryngeal trauma, and present a classification depending on the type of fault, as well as a practical scheme of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in cases of suspected laryngeal-tracheal injury.
