Wanda Lankajtes and her role in social nursing development in Poland

Wanda Lankajtes was triple Rockefeller Foundation fellow and one of the initiators of social nursing in Poland. She was author and co-author
of articles concerning social nursing published in the Journal „Polish Nurse”. She was constantly working on her professional development
associated with care for patients in their social environment. Wanda Lankajtes was demanding and respected nursing teacher. She was also
supporter of sovereignty and autonomy of nurses in their efforts in work for patients and partnership with physicians.
