Some aspects of chronic wound treatment

Chronic wounds are a kind of severe complications of various diseases and pathologies connected with local perfusion abnormalities in veins, arteries or microcirculation. Coexisting local nutritional and oxygen deficiencies cause skin changes and following breakdown of cellular metabolism and necrosis leading to ulcer formation. Without appropriate treatment wound can spread to the deeper tissues. It is a serious clinical, nursing and economical problem and treatment is connected with high resources consumption.
Increase of treatment effectiveness can be reached by complex therapy including etiology and local environment.
