Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) and accompanying functional disorders are the hidden epidemic problem. It has been estimated that over the next thirty years the rate of women who will seek treatment for POP and/or urinary incontinence will double. In the paper epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnostic protocols and current treatment strategies has been presented. Diagnostic algorithms and current treatment options has been discussed. Finally

novel options in the treatment of overactive bladder including botulinum toxin injections in patients resistant to classical anticholinergic therapy have been proposed.
