The use of atopy patch tests with aeroallergens in diagnosis of atopic dermatitis in children

In this study the outcomes of atopy patch tests in three groups of children were compared; I - children with atopic dermatitis and negative skin prick tests, II - children with atopic dermatitis and positive skin prick tests, III - with atopic dermatitis, positive skin prick tests and allergic diseases of the respiratory tract. Tests were done in 39 children and 20 (51.3%) of them had positive outcome. The control group consisted of 12 children with allergic diseases of the respiratory tract without atopic dermatitis and with positive skin prick tests.
