The aim of this work is to argue the high completeness of data regarding malignant tumors, gathered by the Wielkopolska Cancer Registry, which underlies the wholesome macro- and microtregion policy. Data used in this analysis come from he Polish National Cancer Registry (the PNCR) and the Wielkopolska Cancer Registry (the WCR).
The completeness of the registration in Poland in 1999 was estimated at 86% (85% for men and 87% for women), in the Dolnośląskie Cancer Registry at 105%, Opole at 93%, Świętokrzyskie at 118%, Łódź at 59%, Wielkopolska at 91%.
The assessed completeness of the registration for the WCR is considerably higher than the national average rate and classifies the WCR close to the level of the Opole Cancer Registry standard. The WCR has new tasks aimed to increasing the reliability and cohesion of assembled data (e.g. the introduction of standards in code categorization, the morphological codes, etc.).
