Compression therapy is one of the most effective methods in the prevention and treatment of chronic venous disorders and ulcers at all stages of the disease.
A number of trials unequivocally confirm effectiveness of compression in both forms of stockings and multilayer systems used in the treatment of venous ulcers.
In this article we describe the selected basic principles (interface pressure, Laplace\'s law) of using compression therapy in the prevention and treatment of chronic venous disorders and ulcers
