Hair is an important part of our life. It can be a sign of youth and health and its loss is a distressing event, particularly for women. Hair changes, including changes in distribution, colour and texture, are a common complaint in postmenopausal women. Some of them can be attributed to changes in hormonal environment at the menopause. The relative rise in androgen to oestrogen ratio may play a significant role in development of androgenetic alopecia and facial hirsutism.
