Introduction
Postoperative pain after endodontic treatment negatively impacts patients’ quality of life. Therefore, minimizing post endodontic pain (PEP) is a key goal for clinicians, as it is both undesirable and reflect the success of treatment. The study aimed to evaluate PEP following single-visit root canal treatment, using ProTaper Next (PTN) and TruNatomy (TN) file systems in combination with side-vented needle (SV) and EndoActivator (EA) irrigation techniques.

Material and methods
Based on specific intraoral examination, 140 individuals were selected and distributed into 4 different criteria groups: Group 1 (PTN-SV), group 2 (PTN-EA), group 3 (TN-SV), and group 4 (TN-EA). To avoid discomfort during treatment, local anesthesia was administrated. PEP potency was observed and analyzed using visual analogue scale (VAS) at 6, 12, 24, and 48 hours posttreatment intervals. Data were statistically analyzed via SPSS version 20.0 software, with a significance level set at 0.05.

Results
At 6 and 12 hours, TN-EA showed the lowest PEP scores compared with other groups, and a statistically significant difference was observed. However, at 24 and 48 hours, no statistically significant differences were noted among all groups.

Conclusions
The pain potency after endodontic therapy was minimal when using the TN file system combined with EA irrigation, indicating its effectiveness in reducing posttreatment pain.
