Breast abscesses are the most frequently caused by the Staphylococcus aureus turing the lactation period or pregnancy. The treatment of giant or multicellular breast abscesses consists in a surgical incision and collecting the material for bacteriological and histopathological examination. It is necessary to differentiate abscesses from malignant tumors, that is the Paget carcinoma and the inflammatory type of the breast carcinoma.
In the following article we present a case of a 59-year-old woman treated for a giant breast abscess as well as a review literature concerning this problem.
