Polish Universal Neonatal Hearing Screening Programme

The Universal Neonatal Hearing Screening Programme is the biggest prophylactic programme in Poland. It is organized to cover every newborn with a hearing test in order to detect individuals with hearing loss and refer them for early treatment. This article presents a summary of the Programme activity, outcomes as well as the historical background of screening tests in Poland.
