The problem of ingrown nail has been observed in the population in all ages. The aetiopathogenesis is complex. Depending on the underlying cause, there may be involvement of a genetic failures or multiple environmental factors. Usually it becomes a chronic condition and the mechanism remains unclear. Thus, patients tend to underestimate its importance, hoping for spontaneous improvement. In the beginning, patients regard the pathology as the cosmetic problem, and after diagnosis is made they are afraid of a painful surgical procedure. Low awareness and public knowledge about ingrown nail affect both the early diagnosis and appropriate treatment regimen. The TIME strategy is focused on the identification of common modalities in the development of the wound. The presented TIME strategy covers the general principles of effective treatment with severity of the disease. The aim of the study is to present the problem of ingrown nail and links it with formula of TIME strategy.
