Pain is the most common symptom in patients with advanced cancer. Coexistence of alcohol abuse and a cancer disease can be a reason of difficulties in obtaining of acceptable analgesia and may result in patient`s incomplete satisfaction in the self-assessment of the psychophysical state. The article presents the case of patient with disseminated neoplastic disease derived from squamous cell carcinoma od the oral cavity with metastases of lung and left adrenal gland. The purpose of this study was an assessment of effectiveness of pain treatment and quality of life in cancer patient with alcohol addiction. The psychological diagnostics and the cognitive-behavioral therapy were used during the treatment to improve of patient`s everyday functioning.
