The paper presents the authors’ attempt to answer whether it is possible to manage the fear of the death. In their point of view, yes, and it could be possible through knowledge of the mechanisms of anxiety. The theory of thanatopedagogical relational replacement therapy developed by the authors represents the challenge to put in order some of the questions related to the fear of death. The proposed method consists in experiencing penthos; it means at least partial knowledge and management of the experience linked to the death process.
