This study presents an analysis of the value of sentinel lymph node procedure in the operative treatment of breast cancer. A comparison was made of the histopathological post-operative protocols for the first 30 patients operated by a single surgeon in the oncological surgery ward. A high level of accuracy was noted between sentinel lymph node examination and the axillary lymph node status both in the material with breast cancer metastasis and in the material free of metastasis. This quality control argues that this procedure conforms to the standard operational treatment of breast cancer, and is in agreement with the current recommendations.
