Confronting perimenopausal women’s knowledge of coronary heart disease with their health behaviours. Controversial role of hormone replacement therapy in the protection of coronary heart disease
Women with colorectal cancer may experience a wide range of negative effects of the disease and its treatment in many facets of life, including sexuality. However, although sexual life remains an important issue for female patients with cancer, and sexual disorders are frequently the source of their suffering, too little attention is devoted to this issue in clinical practice. This is particularly disturbing in light of numerous research results showing the high prevalence of sexual disorders among women with colorectal and rectal cancer. The most common complaints reported by patients include vaginal dryness, pain, dyspareunia, altered body image, and decreased sense of attractiveness and desire. All the above-mentioned symptoms can be effectively diagnosed and treated, and an increase in sexual satisfaction can significantly improve the quality of life.
