The sense of coherence and spirituality are very important resources that could enhance the quality of life and stress prevention. The aim of this preliminary study was to analyse the relation between the sense of coherence and spirituality with occupational burnout among people who take care of patients with cancer. The variables were measured by SOC-29 scale (Sense of Coherence Scale by Antonovsky), KS questionnaire by Heszen and Maslach Burnout Inventory. The study included 30 people that work with cancer patients on the daily basis – doctors, psychologists and priests. It turned out that the sense of coherence and spirituality can be a relevant protection against occupational burnout among people who work with cancer patients.
