Introduction
The quality of nursing care is a set of features determining the value of the services provided, it is also one of the most important elements that affects patient satisfaction with care. It is therefore important to systematically conduct quality assessments that reflect the perception of nursing care by patients during their hospital stay.

Aim of the study
Getting to know experiences and obtaining information about satisfaction from nursing care in the opinion of patients treated at the Department of Neurosurgery.

Material and methods
The study was conducted among 46 patients of the Department of Neurosurgery in one of Warsaw hospitals. The research material was obtained by the method of a diagnostic survey. A ready-made standardized research tool was used, which was the Polish Version of the Newcastle Care Satisfaction Scale. The IBM SPSS Statistics 25 package was used to perform statistical analyzes.

Results
Patients’ experience and satisfaction with nursing care are at the level of 85.56 and 78.89 points, respectively. Neither of the studied socio-demographic characteristics nor the duration of the patient’s stay in the ward determined the patient’s experience or satisfaction with nursing care.

Conclusions
Patients highly assessed the nursing care provided and were satisfied with it, which indicates the high quality of the care provided. The overall assessment of nursing care by the respondents, as well as the assessment of their current stay in the ward, was high, which suggests that the current level of care provided should be maintained, with the strengthening of good actions and consideration of corrective directions regarding the actions of nursing staff that fared less well.
