The antiphospholipid syndrome during pregnancy can result in many obstetrical complications as well as in higher prevalence of placental vascular thrombosis. In spite of intensive medical research it is still unclear which detected antibodies are mainly pathogenic. There are attempts to use laboratory results in practice because they can be related to different clinical pictures during illness. In this study we discuss modern diagnostics of the antiphospholipid syndrome in pregnancy as well as its preventive measures in the aspect of improvement of perinatal care in Poland.
