Health behaviour in group of patients with carotid arteries narrowing

The aim of the research was to evaluate health patients behaviour with diagnosed carotid arteries narrowing.
Material and methods : The research was carried among 91 adult patients with diagnosed carotid arteries narrowing qualified to an operative treatment. The tool of the research was self-builded questionnaire with demographic data and standarized diagnostic tool called Health Behavior Inventory.
Results : Arithmetic mean of scores from Health Behavior Inventory is 84.76. The highest intensity of health behaviour is revealed in health practice (average 3.75) and the least in proper eating habits (average 3.1).
Conclusions : The largest group patients with carotid arteries narrowing presents health behaviour at moderate level. Patients in old age got statistically vaild higher indicators of health practice. Patients who have experienced ischemic stroke before operation presents lower indicators in all categories of health behaviour.
