Online publish date: 2013/01/24
Introduction. Hernia meningo — core occupies a special place among the birth defects of the nervous system. It causes significant delay of
the motor development of a child.
Aim of the study. The aim of this study was to analyze the psychomotor development of arthrogryposis, myelomeningocele — core girl and
to assess the impact of early introduced correct care and rehabilitation on her development.
Material and methods. The study covered a two-year old girl with a congenital malformation in the form of an open meningo-spinal hernia
in the lumbar area — the cross, fitted surgically on the first day of her life. This work includes the study of an individual case of the child,
assessing her development in terms of mobility, living functions and psychology.
Results and conclusions. It was found beyond doubt that an early improvement and care affect the inhibition of pathological reflexes of
early childhood, facilitate the formation of physiological movement patterns and stimulate child’s psychomotor development. Achieved
degree of locomotion is determined largely by the level of injury.
