Primary vaginal cancer is one of the rarest malignancy of the women’s genital tract. The diagnosis is usually established after natural menopause. Risk factors for epithelial vaginal cancer are almost the same as risk factors for cervical cancer. We present a case of a patient with primary squamous cell cancer of the vagina and discuss the diagnostic and treatment options.
Surgical and radiotherapeutic treatments can be effectively combined in patients with vaginal carcinoma. Chemoradiotherapy is often needed in more advanced stages.
