Introduction. The level of the sense of coherence (SOC) is an element which explains the relationship between support and health.

Aim of the study. The aim of the study was to find the relationship between the SOC of the disabled and the social support they receive.

Material and methods. The study included 69 disabled people working in companies employing the disabled. The SOC level was assessed
using Antonovsky SOC-29 questionnaire and social support was measured using Kmiecik-Baran scale.

Results. The SOC level is more or less the same in the disabled, independently of the cause of disability. There are differences in the intensity
of social support and between the extend of disability and meaningfulness and manageability.

Conclusions. Higher meaningfulness enables the disabled to derive greater pleasure from everyday life.
