Diet modification and change of eating habits are elements of effective therapy of lipid disorders, which effect more and more people on the world. One of the most popular guidelines is to change sources of saturated to unsaturated fatty acid. Particular attention should be paid to fatty acids from the n-3 family, which are helpful in the treatment of hypertriglyceridaemia. Elements of the Mediterranean and DASH diet in everyday meals and probiotic supplements also can be beneficial.
