The entire analysis included 615 women living in the city of Lodz. The gathered material has been divided into three groups: teachers, nurses and midwives and unemployed women with basic education. My research shows that the educational level of the inquired women has a major influence on their knowledge about the notion of menopause and its symptoms, understanding the lack of feminine hormones in the organism and usage of hormonal substitute therapy. Midwives working in open therapy proved to have the most extensive knowledge about the research theme. 21.9% of the teachers, 19% of the nurses and midwives and 9% of the unemployed women have used hormonal substitute therapy. 33% of the midwives working in open therapy have used HTZ, which represents the largest group among the questioned women. 90.1% of the teachers stated that their knowledge is superficial and requires completion. Similar opinions were stated by 85.5% of the women with basic education, 63.1% of the questioned nurses and midwives and 16.7% of the midwives working in open therapy.
