Specialized nursing care among patients with venous ulcers is composed not only from reduction of causative factors, compression therapy, care of wound and surrounding skin and education but also holistic and influences patients life. Venous ulcer hinders the everyday life and leads to long-lasting addiction to medical care. New approach to treatment process prefers precise wound bed debridement and optimalisation of local microenvironment. Wound bed debridement included four elements of T.I.M.E process allows for wound conditions optimalisation and improve healing indicators.

The aim of the study was to present the role of nurse in healing process and care of patients with venous ulcers.
