Use of pregabalin in pain treatment in cancer patients – clinical case reports

Around 80% cancer patients in advanced stadium suffers pain. Its patomechanism is neuropathic or mixed in over 30% patients. There are two cases of cancer pain discussed in this paper, one of which was concerned with neuropathic component, and the second patient suffered from chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy. The strategy of combined opioid and pregabalin treatment of cancer pain with neuropathic component by has been raised. Good pain control was achieved in presented clinical cases, and in one case the reduction a dose of an opioid was attained.
