Hormonal transformations occurring during the menopause may alter female sexual functions. It is characterized by reduced sex drive, aversion to sex, lack of arousal and pain during intercourse. There are many possible solutions improving quality of life. Various studies confirm effectiveness of estrogen supplementation in menopausal vaginal atrophy. Androgen supplementation is associated with the sexual function and satisfaction improvement. Currently, quite often local treatment methods are used. These are autologous graft of adipose cells, hyaluronic acid and platelet rich plasma injections in order to increase tissue elasticity and to improve regeneration and lubrication of vagina.
