The Editors of the “Advances in Head and Neck Surgery/Postępy w Chirurgii Głowy i Szyi” journal publish descriptions of interesting clinical cases as well as state-of-the-art review papers in all fields of contemporary otolaryngology.

The manuscripts submitted must be accompanied by the authors’ statement to the effect that the manuscript had not been previously published and had not been submitted to any other journal. The author must also attach a statement that there is no conflict of interest or that such a conflict may exist.

Manuscripts submitted to the Editors are assessed by reviewers and subsequently qualified for printing. Reviewers evaluate the choice of the subject of the work, its originality and scientific value.

The papers should be sent to the Editorial Secretary by email to (https://www.termedia.pl/Czasopismo/Postepy_w_chirurgii_glowy_i_nbsp_szyi-11/Kontakt).

The review papers may not be longer than 15 pages, and case studies – not more than 8 pages, including tables, figures, figure legends and references. The manuscripts should use 10-point Times New Roman or Arial fonts, without highlights or bolds, in Polish or English. The titles and section headings should be separated from the body text by a double space.

Figures numbered with Arabic numerals and tables numbered with Roman numerals must be sent in a separate file or on separate pages in the main file. Consecutive numbers of the figure or table should be given in parentheses in the appropriate place of the text. All the figure legends should be given on a separate page according to the numbering adopted. Photographs, also colour photographs, should be saved as .jpg, .tiff or .bmp files.

The title page should be as follows: first line – full name of the author(s), then – title of the manuscript in Polish and English followed by the name of the Clinic, Department or Unit.

An abstract in Polish and English should accompany the manuscript. The abstracts should have 200 to 250 words. Each abstract should include key words in Polish and English as appropriate.

The case report should include the following parts:

(a) introduction,

(b) case report,

(c) discussion, and

(d) references.

References should be given in the order in which they appear in the body text. Each reference should be numbered with an Arabic numeral given in the body text in square brackets. The format of citations presented should follow the rules established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Each reference should be written in a new paragraph, numbered and contain: last names and first letters of first names of the authors, title of the article, abbreviated journal titles as per Index Medicus, year, volume, first and last pages.

For books: give last names and first letters of first names of authors, title, publisher, place and year of publication. For book chapters: last names and first letters of first names of authors, title of the chapter, last names and first letters of first names of volume editors, title of the book, publisher, place and year of publication, first and last pages.

If there are more than six authors, names of the first six should be given, followed by “et al.”

The Editors reserve the right to correct stylistic errors without consulting the authors.

When the manuscript is accepted for print, all rights to its use, in whole or in part, are transferred to the Editors of the “Advances in Head and Neck Surgery/Postępy w Chirurgii Głowy i Szyi” journal and the Termedia Medical Publishing House. The published work or its fragments may not appear in print in another publication.
