Dear Colleagues,

In March 2009, the first issue of “Journal of Contemporary Brachytherapy“ was published, and during this first 6 years our Journal was published quarterly. Now we begin to publish our brachytherapy journal bimonthly. The title and the scope of the journal remain unchanged. More issues will enhance a possibility to share scientific knowledge and to shorten time from submission to final decision. The number of new manuscripts submitted to the Journal is increasing constantly, and that is a good prognosis. While we are pleased with this fact, the workload of our referees had increased to whom I would like to express my great appreciation for their outstanding and high quality revisions. Efforts to incorporate our journal to the Philadelphia list continues, as Thomson Reuters began to monitor and evaluate our Journal. “Journal of Contemporary Brachytherapy“ is and will stay an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This issue of the “Journal of Contemporary Brachytherapy“ consist of two parts: in the first part we publish thirteen peer-reviewed manuscripts, and in the second – materials from 2015 Conference, Australasian Brachytherapy Group, which will be held in Rydges World Square, Sydney on 12-14 March, 2015 (http://www.abg.org.au/ABG1/default.asp). Publishing of this materials does not mean in any matter a company preference. Most of us will probably come to Barcelona for the Third ESTRO Forum (24-28 April, 2015) or to Orlando for ABS Annual Meeting (9-11 April, 2015). I think that this will be a good opportunity to meet altogether, and discuss current challenges in brachytherapy and its place in cancer treatment. A new section, “Educational Activity” was created one year ago. It is a special section in the Journal, in which healthcare professionals (in brachytherapy) can publish articles (on their own initiative or per request) about their clinical experiences in relation to brachytherapy with the objective to share these with their peers. Of course, this section is open for all brachytherapy users. Clinical...
