The creation of an intestinal stoma remains an integral part of many surgical procedures, performed mainly in colorectal cancer treatment. The appropriate surgical technique and the placing of a stoma in the correct anatomical area increase the chance of therapeutic effects and good quality of life. However, the occurrence of skin lesions around the stoma is relatively frequent. Such lesions can occur for mechanical, chemical, allergic, infectious, or genetic reasons. They require immediate diagnosis and implementation of an appropriate treatment plan of the underlying disease.
