Abstract

Angiocentric T-cell lymphoma (described by Liebow as lymphomatoid granulomatosis), which typically involves nose and upper respiratory system, is mostly a multisystemic disease. We report a 27-year-old patient with multiple lesions in both lungs in chest X-ray and CT images resembling the metastatic tumour of the lung. The immunophenotype of 74,5% of T-lymphocytes from BALF was CD3+, CD4-, CD8+, CD45RO+, CD56-, and CD4/CD8 ratio had a value of 0,26. The diagnosis of angiocentric lymphoma in this patient was confirmed by a histopatological analysis of the material from thoracotomy. The patient was treated with aggressive, multidrug chemotherapy, but he died 3 months after the beginning of the disease with the symptoms of the DIC syndrome and respiratory insufficiency.
