Confronting perimenopausal women’s knowledge of coronary heart disease with their health behaviours. Controversial role of hormone replacement therapy in the protection of coronary heart disease
Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity reactions involve controlled exposure to the causative factor and therefore carry the risk of inducing hypersensitivity symptoms. This document presents the necessary requirements to ensure the safety of these procedures. It describes skin prick tests, intradermal and patch tests, drug provocations, including provocations with acetylsalicylic acid, and drug desensitization. The evaluation of individual procedures distinguishes patients at high and ordinary risk, takes into account indications and contraindications and specific situations such as pregnancy, mastocytosis, the use of β-blockers and ACEIs. Recommendations refer to the equipment and place of performing a given procedure, the time of observation after its completion and the qualifications of the medical staff.
