The creators of Polish allergology were prof. Zofia Czeżowska and prof. Mieczysław Obtułowicz. The first centers of clinical and experimental allergology were established in the early 1950s in Wroclaw, Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk, Lodz, Zabrze, Szczawnica i Karpacz. The review of scientific literature indicates the high scientific activity of the then environment of Polish allergists and following the progress of experimental and clinical world allergology. November 15, 1982 the Founding Congress of the Polish Society of Allergology took place. The first president of the Society was prof. Bogdan Romański. In 11 academic centers, Polish Society of Allergology Branches were established, which have great merits in educating specialist doctors in the field of allergic diseases. Regular scientific training meetings were organized in the Branches, and on a national scale there were great scientific conventions in Warsaw, Krakow, Lodz, Bydgoszcz, Katowice and other centers.
