Cardiac rehabilitation is a very important element in patient’s
treatment. One of its components is rehabilitation at an outpatient clinic conducted after their stay at the hospital. We analysed the influence of physical activity on HR and RR. A group of 66 patients after cardiosurgical procedures (CABG, AVR and MVR) was examined. These were 55 men (aged 27–79) and 14 women (aged 41–77).
Each patient attended on average 23.65 sessions. The supervised training programme lasted on average 10 weeks. The protocol contained exercises and endurance training on ergometers.
After a supervised session of cardiac rehabilitation we observed a decrease in RR and adjustment in HR. The obtained results show adaptation of the cardiovascular system to physical activity.
