Structure of vocal fold

The authors present a detailed structure of the vocal fold, basing upon the latest ultrastructural research consistent with Hirano’s layer theory (cover body complex). They also emphasize the importance of glicoproteids, which enter into the composition of lamina propria of the vocal fold. Moreover, anatomy of the glottis are presented with particular emphasis on the importance of the anterior commissure as well as the innervation and vascularization of the vocal fold.
