Electrocardiography (ECG) is one of the most important tests used in medicine. It is an inexpensive and widely available test both in outpatient settings, in hospital wards, and within emergency medical teams. During the ECG recording, the patient should lie still, with no movement of the limbs, and should breathe calmly. It is important to know the characteristics of the ECG recording that occurs in healthy patients. It is necessary to remember the normal durations, amplitudes and morphology of specific waves (P, Q, R, S, T) and intervals (PQ, QTc). With this knowledge, pathological phenomena occurring in a given recording can be identified. This paper discusses the features of a normal ECG recording and includes electrocardiograms of young patients.
