The aim of the study were the indications for cesarean section in the Clinical Hospital and Chair of the Obstetrics Women Diseases and Gynecological Oncology at II Medical Faculty of Warsaw Medical University in the years 2002-2007. The study was composed of 2833 women delivered by cesarean section, it was 31.2% of all delivery. The main indications for cesarean section were: fetal distress - 25.6%, breech fetal presentation - 13.4%, head failing to engage - 12%, threatening intra-uterine fetal infection - 8.7% which in summary are 59.7% indications for cesarean section. The main indications to cesarean section were not changed at the last period.
